How to get to Poland
Plane
From many years now, there are direct flights from England to Poland provided by PLL LOT and British Airways. There are many planes flying on the course London – Warsaw (around 6 flights every day, from Heathrow Airport). There are also daily flights from Manchester and Gatwick Airport, going to Warsaw and Krakow.
The above plane companies have much higher prices than the cheap flight companies, although they do provide higher standard services. The cheap flight companies, which provide direct flights to Poland are:
Wizzair
SkyEurope
Ryanair
Centaralwings
EasyJet
The flight prices can very often be cheaper than the coach prices sometimes you can pay only £10.00 . The prices vary, and depend on the time of the year you would like to go at, as well as the time that you booked the tickets - in advance or last minute. Usually it is that you will be able to get cheaper tickets if you book them in advance. The planes of Wizz Air and Easy Jet fly to many different areas of Poland from London Luton Airport. They not only fly to Warsaw and Krakow, but also to Szczecin, Gdansk, Bydgoszcz, Poznan and Katowice.
Coaches
The coach tickets from England to Poland are available from almost every travel agent. The journey takes around 24-28 hours, depending on where in Poland you are going to. All coaches pick their passengers from Victoria Coach Station in London, however, it is possible to get tickets from Bermingham, Coventry, Manchester or other big towns in England.
Travelling by coach is not always the cheapest option – one way ticket is about £80 per adult but uoy can take with you bige luggage then on the plane.
Car
Travelling by car can be the cheapest option if you are travelling with more people and are sharing the costs. It is very convenient, as you can take as much luggage as you want, unlike on the plane and coach, where they have restrictions – only 20 or 25 kg of luggage per person.
However, it is a long journey and might take up to 24 hours, so it can be very tiring. For example the distance from London to Warsaw is about 1750 km.
You will also have to go on a ferry to get from Dover to Calais.
The price of petrol in Europe is about 1.10 Euros/litre.
A ferry ticket bought through P&O companies can cost around £100, but the prices can vary depending on the time of the year.
